Product Description
The control system is the "brain" and "nervous system" of metallurgical production lines, responsible for data acquisition, process control, sequential control, optimization scheduling, human-machine interaction, etc.
According to the internationally accepted ISA-95 standard, metallurgical automation systems adopt a five-level hierarchical structure:
- L0 Process Measurement & Control
- L1 Basic Automation Level
- L2 Process Control Level
- L3 Production Control Level
- L4 Enterprise Management Level
PLC is a digital computing electronic system specially designed for industrial environments, using programmable memory to execute logical operations, sequence control, timing, counting, and arithmetic operations, controlling various mechanical equipment or production processes through digital or analog input/output.
***Recommended Scenarios:EAF(<30t), SAF(<12500kVA), FTP(Fume Treatment Plant), and etc.
Origin: In 1968, General Motors (GM) in the United States proposed ten specifications for developing a new controller to replace relay control systems, leading to the birth of the first PLC.
Composition: CPU - Central Processing Unit, Memory, Power Supply, Input Module, Output Module, Communication Module, and Expansion Module.
Advantages:
Strong Anti-interference
Strong Logic Control
Cost-effective
Easy Programming & Maintenance
Fast Response
Easy Expansion
***PLC and DCS each have their advantages. Selection should consider factors such as project scale, control requirements, investment budget, and maintenance capabilities. In the metallurgical industry, especially for EAF and SAF control, the appropriate control system architecture should be selected based on specific process requirements and system scale to achieve optimal technical and economic results.
