Xi’an Hongxin Enters Negotiation Phase for Industrial Silicon Project with Omani Client

May 7, 2025 – Xi’an Hongxin Arc Furnace Co., Ltd. has announced that it has entered the negotiation phase with a major client in Oman for a new industrial silicon submerged arc furnace (SAF) project. This marks another important step in the company’s strategic expansion across the Middle East metallurgical market.

The proposed project involves the supply of a complete industrial silicon furnace line, including electrode columns, short network systems, water‑cooled components, and an automated feeding system. The furnace capacity and specific technical parameters are currently being discussed, with both parties working toward a tailored solution that meets the client’s production goals and local operating conditions.

“We are very pleased to be in active negotiations with our Omani partner,” said the Overseas Sales Director of Xi’an Hongxin. “Industrial silicon is a critical material for the aluminium, chemical, and electronics industries, and the Middle East region is witnessing growing demand. Our proven experience in designing and delivering high‑efficiency SAFs positions us well to support this expansion.”

The negotiation phase follows several rounds of technical exchanges and site visits. The Omani client has expressed strong interest in Xi’an Hongxin’s advanced DC furnace technology and its track record of successful projects in the region, including the company’s landmark 2 × 33,000 kVA industrial silicon project – currently the largest SAF plant in the Middle East.

If an agreement is reached, the project would encompass engineering design, equipment manufacturing, shipment, on‑site installation supervision, and commissioning. Xi’an Hongxin would also provide comprehensive training for local operators and long‑term after‑sales support, ensuring the plant achieves optimal performance from day one.

The industrial silicon market in the Middle East is expanding rapidly, driven by downstream industries such as photovoltaic manufacturing and specialty alloys. Oman, in particular, has been actively developing its metals and mining sector as part of its economic diversification strategy. Xi’an Hongxin views this negotiation as a strategic opportunity to strengthen its foothold in the region.

“We are committed to delivering world‑class quality and full‑lifecycle service to our Middle Eastern customers,” added the Sales Director. “This project, once finalised, will further demonstrate our capability as a leading global SAF provider.”

Both parties aim to conclude the negotiation by mid‑2025, with the potential for contract signing in the third quarter. Further updates will be shared as the discussion progresses.
